LEGO Star Wars/LEGO Star Wars: The Videogame (January 10, 2005 prototype)/Hidden content/Audio

This page lists and describes audio files found in the January 10, 2005 prototype but are not present in the retail build of the game. I have given some comparisons of the files if they are present, but differ across these versions.

Collectibles

Minikits

CoinMLoop.vag

Based on the filename, this could be a sound resulting from a coin magnet power-up that was scrapped during development as similar power-ups in later entries such as the Tractor Beam in Lego Star Wars II and the spherical blue power-ups in Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga sound similar to this one. However, this is all speculation.
Location: GAME.DAT/audio/_soundfx/pickup/CoinMLoop.vag

Minikits that are nearby play a completely different sound from the final build. The filename was also slightly changed.
Retail Location: GAME.DAT/audio/_soundfx/pickup/MK-Loop.vag
Prototype Location: GAME.DAT/audio/_soundfx/pickup/MK-Loop22-28.vag

MK-Loop.wav (Original) MK-Loop22-28.wav (Prototype)

A Minikit may instantly appear after a puzzle is completed by the player, rather than it always being there from the start. Again, completely different sound and filename from the final build.
Retail Location: GAME.DAT/audio/_soundfx/pickup/MK-Panel.vag
Prototype Location: GAME.DAT/audio/_soundfx/pickup/SWLeverOn.vag

MK-Panel.vag (Original) SWLeverOn.vag (Prototype)

Characters

Battle Droids

The two death sounds of Battle Droids are completely different from the game's release.

droiddie01.vag (Original) droiddie01.vag (Prototype)
droiddie02.vag (Original) droiddie02.vag (Prototype)

drd_blastem.vag

A Battle Droid saying "Blast 'em!". It is uncertain if this is used or not in the prototype. This is nowhere in the files of the final build. It is used in the Game Boy Advance version, however.

Jar-Jar Binks

JJ_HowRude.vag

A clip of Jar-Jar Binks saying "How Rude!" It is not used in the prototype and is not in the final build.

R2-D2

The sound that plays when R2-D2 moves his head is much higher pitched than in the final build. However, it does not seem to be implemented.

R2HeadMove.vag (Original) R2Head.vag (Prototype)

The sound coming from an Astromech Droid's thrusters when hovering is much lower pitched as well as a different sound in the prototype.

R2ThrustLp.vag (Original) R2Thrust.vag (Prototype)

Jedi

SaberSmack04.vag

This sound plays when a Jedi character hits with their lightsaber.

TreeLift.vag

This sound plays at the beginning of Episode I, Chapter 2: At the beginning of the level, you must use the force on a large tree that collapsed from the wind, hence the filename.

Ship Ambience

These are files that are included in standard areas where the player is inside a spaceship (i.e. Dexter's Diner, Negotiations). They all contain mono audio, so the "L" and "R" in the filename means they play in the left and right channel respectively.

ShipAmb1_44.L.vag

ShipAmb1_44.R.vag

ShipAmb2_44.L.vag

ShipAmb2_44.R.vag

ShipAmb3_44.L.vag

ShipAmb3_44.R.vag

Mud

These sounds play when a character walks over mud.

FS_Mud1.vag

FS_Mud2.vag

FS_Mud3.vag

FS_Mud4.vag

Lego

Building

Although there are sounds for building Lego structures in the retail version, there were originally more.

LegoClicks1.vag

LegoClicks2.vag

LegoClicks3.vag

LegoForm1.vag

Destruction

There are much more sounds for loose, bouncing Lego pieces in the game that play after an object or enemy is destroyed.

LegoDebris2.vag

LegoDoorExpl.vag

LegoMedium_1.vag

LegoMedium_2.vag

LegoMedium_3.vag

LegoMedium_6.vag

LegoSmall_2.vag

LegoSmall_4.vag

Unknown

SeismicCharge.vag

A powerful sound file. It is uncertain what this was supposed to be used for in the prototype. Obviously, this is not in the final game.
